Intrepid Travel has launched 28 new active trips for 2026, responding to a growing appetite for immersive, physically engaging travel. The expanded collection includes hiking, cycling, kayaking and rafting adventures across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania — all designed to connect travellers with nature while embracing a healthy, active lifestyle.
The new range includes five multi-active itineraries, 21 walking and trekking journeys, and two cycling-focused trips, bringing Intrepid’s total number of active adventures to 148. Highlights include Icelandic glacier hikes, volcano treks in Central America, cycling the Munda Biddi Trail in Western Australia, and snorkelling the Red Sea off Jordan.
Nature, movement and cultural connection

Erica Kritikides, General Manager of Experiences at Intrepid Travel, said the launch comes at a time of growing interest in wellness and nature-based holidays.
“Active travel is one of our fastest-growing categories. Travellers are increasingly seeking movement as a way to relax and reconnect — with nature, with others, and with themselves.”
“These trips allow people to go beyond the guidebook — from hiking remote Mexican highlands to kayaking through Norway’s World Heritage fjords. They combine adventure with cultural depth, making for truly transformative travel experiences.”
All new trips are small-group and led by local leaders. Intrepid also assigns each itinerary a physical rating from one to five to guide travellers on the level of exertion required. The active range falls between ratings three and five — moderate to challenging — suited for travellers with a solid level of fitness.
