WWTR work with Counter Poaching Unit in Africa

Where Wild Things Roam (WWTR) editor in chief, Kate Webster, will head to South Africa this week to spend some time with the Dyck Advisory Group Conservation Trust, a core counter poaching team in Africa.

During the stay, Kate will see first hand the daily activities these counter poaching teams undertake in an effort to protect the wildlife in the area from poachers.

Dyck Advisory Group Conservation Trust (DAGCT) carries out conservation and wildlife protection through its Counter-Poaching involvement and operations on the ground. DAGCT prides itself in operating on the front line and in many cases, behind enemy lines, to neutralise poaching activity and ensure the safety of today’s endangered and targeted wildlife.

This is backed by a well-structured management team implementing a winning strategy personally developed, lead and tweaked to near perfection by Col. Dyck utilising over 30 years of high-level military and conservation experience. In all areas of operation, DAGCT works closely with local law enforcement agencies, maximising effectiveness of arrests and allowing opportunities to see arrests through to conviction.

All of this comes at a cost though and with DAGCT being a non-profit organisation, they rely heavily on donations to continue their hard work.

Where Wild Things Roam has stepped up to collect as many much-needed items needed by the team on the ground in Africa and deliver these in the coming weeks.

Thanks to Canon Australia, Where Wild Things Roam will deliver four sets of 8 x 25 IS binoculars, which will be utilised by head rangers in the field during operation.
