In response to the rise in experimental travel, with more travellers seeking immersive, nature-based adventures, the eco-tourism specialist has unveiled its Orcas & Lights Expedition — a six-night journey through Norway’s fjords aboard the newly refitted MS Freya, timed for the peak of Arctic winter magic in December 2026.
Designed for those who value experience over luxury in the traditional sense, the expedition invites guests to swim with orcas by day and relax under the aurora by night — all while enjoying small-ship comfort, expert guidance and sustainable travel practices.
A one-of-a-kind Arctic experience
Departing 3 December 2026, the expedition offers an unforgettable mix of adventure and serenity. Guests can snorkel or free dive with orcas in their natural environment, under the supervision of experienced guides and marine specialists. With just 12 passengers on board, the small-group format ensures a personalised and intimate encounter with nature.
The MS Freya, a 45-metre expedition vessel recently renovated to polar safety standards, features nine spacious cabins including deluxe twins, singles and a suite. Guests will enjoy ensuite accommodation, a panoramic hot tub, indoor sauna, passenger lounge and onboard restaurant. The expedition includes use of wetsuits and Arctic suits, guided whale swimming in two zodiacs, and all main meals throughout the journey.
For those who prefer to observe from the surface, the experience is no less powerful. From the deck of the Freya, guests can watch orcas and other marine life against a dramatic winter backdrop, before retreating to warm interiors and wraparound views of the northern lights.
