Ski With Kim, a unique ski guide company offering one-of-a-kind, global ski adventures with World Extreme Skiing Champion, Kim Reichhelm, announced its 2018 Summer Skiing Schedule with two weeks in Portillo, Chile.
Currently open for reservations, Ski With Kim is headed into its fourteenth season hosting ski trips in the Southern Hemisphere winter by offering two weeks in Portillo:
Both Friends Week and Wine Fest weeks are co-ed camps for intermediate to expert skiers. Reichhelm will guide skiers to experience some of the finest skiing in the world with the best Chilean hospitality at the exclusive Portillo resort.
Skiers will access over 2,000 acres of terrain (with very little grooming) to find the best conditions by lifts, hikes, traverses and heli-skiing. Portillo offers a unique opportunity to heli-ski in the Andes for a few runs or the entire day. Arrangements for heli-skiing or a private guide to accommodate every ski level are available through Ski With Kim.
Friends Week: Aug. 11 – 18: Portillo’s friends and fans invite their friends for a week designed for fun and bonding. A week of good people, good parties, great skiing and lots of Tio Bob’s mountain restaurant time. The week’s events will include cocktail parties, a black and white party, afternoon events at Tio Bob’s, movie selections from the Telluride MountainFilm festival, wine tasting, a visiting master chef and a guest ski race, the Bob Purcell Cup. This is a great week for groups of men or women, singles and couples. Portillo is offering price promotions for its female guests this week.
Wine Fest: Aug. 18 – 25: Based upon the success of Portillo’s original Wine Week, each afternoon guests will be able to wind down while learning about different Chilean wines, talking to the winemakers and tasting different varietals of Chiles top selling wines, all at no extra cost to guests. For the 2018 season Ski Portillo will introduce a new intermediate run, “El Gaucho” named after the Mero Gaucho bird, commonly found high in the Andes. The run is 1,017 feet long and near to the Bajada del Tren.
“Skiing is only part of the experience,” says Reichhelm. “A week in Portillo is magical on all levels. It is full of music, dancing, entertainment, wine, après, special events and a lively vibe from a friendly staff and other ski enthusiasts who are dedicated enough to migrate down south to ski in the summer.”
Like all of Ski With Kim adventures, every destination is customizable. Beginning in Chile this summer, the options are limitless; from heli-skiing off the roof of the W Hotel in Santiago to skiing first tracks on perfectly groomed runs at Valle Nevado, La Parva or El Colorado, to organising wine tours on horseback or surfing the famous left barrels of Pilchilemu, anything can be wrapped into your personalized, bespoke luxury ski vacation.
