A new Himalayan motorbike expedition is putting riders face-to-face with Mount Everest — not from a trekking trail, but from the saddle of a Royal Enfield, crossing one of the most remote and surreal landscapes on Earth.
Where the road meets Everest
This is not your average ride.
Beginning in Kathmandu, the 14-night journey winds its way through Nepal and into Tibet, climbing onto the vast Tibetan Plateau — a place often described as the ‘roof of the world’. Here, the terrain opens into endless horizons, where sacred lakes, high-altitude deserts and snow-capped peaks dominate the landscape.
The route leads to Everest’s northern base camp in Tibet, sitting at 5,200 metres, where riders are rewarded with uninterrupted views of the mountain’s formidable north face — a perspective few travellers ever experience.
Along the way, the journey passes through Lhasa, home to the iconic Potala Palace, and remote Tibetan villages where life continues much as it has for centuries.
The ultimate high-altitude adventure
Covering more than 2,200 kilometres, the expedition is designed for those who want to experience the Himalaya in a more immersive, visceral way.
Days are spent riding between four and six hours, navigating winding mountain roads and vast open stretches, while nights bring a different kind of reward — altitude, stillness and a sky filled with stars.
Despite the remoteness, the journey is fully supported, with accommodation, meals, mechanical backup and local expertise all taken care of. It’s adventure, but without the chaos.
