Great Plains Conservation goes plastic free

Great Plains Conservation is going beyond adopting a “single use plastic” free month and have taken that call up permanently.

Over the last year Great Plains Conservation have adopted this as an internal campaign, and signed the National Geographic Planet or Plastic Pledge to reduce plastics. As founding members of the National Geographic Unique Lodges program, where collectively members have diverted over 1.5 million kgs of waste from landfill last year and seen a reduction in plastic use by 60-70%, Great Plains Conservation is proud to be showcasing this campaign to their guests. 

Plastic water bottles, plastic bags, straws, shrink wrap, and all other disposable plastics have been eliminated as they continue to ‘purge’ operations from anything that is disposable plastic.

Great Plains Conservation have set up high-tech sterile water bottling plants in their camps, and the only thing they say they cannot do at Great Plains is place a plastic straw in your cocktail!
