Discover Antarctica with Chimu Adventures

Travellers looking for an experience of a lifetime to Antarctica can now book on one of the cheapest yet still sustainable 2020/2021 cruises to Antarctica currently on the market, Discover Antarctica.

Chimu Adventures specialise in Antarctica and have launched their 2019 Great Chimu Sale which is offering up to 40% off other expeditions to Antarctica; up to 35% off Latin America small ship cruises and group tours; and up to 30% off Arctic voyages.

It aims to make these bucket list destinations more accessible to travellers looking to achieve their travel goals; exploring once in a lifetime places while becoming ambassadors for their protection.

Discover Antarctica has various departures to the white continent in the 2020/2021 season starting at AU$7090 for 11 days and will be aboard the newly refurbished Ocean Endeavour. Carrying just 200 passengers, all departures will be carbon offset and environmentally friendly initiatives such as no single-use plastics, a re-useable water bottle for every guest and only sustainable seafood on board will be in place, yet it is one of the most affordable Antarctica 2020/2021 season itineraries in the industry right now making it available to more demographics.

Chimu Adventures Co-Founder, Greg Carter, explains: “We are seeing an increasing appetite from travellers of all ages to visit Antarctica. They want to get closer to nature and understand the world we live in.” Carter continues, “Antarctica needs advocates and tourism creates a global constituency of people ready to support – and indeed fund – its preservation. When you are there, you see how fragile the Earth is and this really does inspire you to come back with a renewed momentum to protect the planet.”

Chimu believe that the same sentiment applies to the other end of the Earth, the Arctic. Included in the Arctic product on sale will be Chimu’s inaugural charter cruise to this region, Arctic Unveiled, discounted by 30% with a starting price now from just AU$4991 for eight days. This exclusive Chimu cruise will depart from Longyearbyen, Norway, on the 23rd June 2019 and will explore the remote area of Spitsbergen which is the realm of the elusive and increasingly endangered polar bear.

Among the Latin America trips on sale will be up to 35% off a luxury small cruise in the Galapagos Islands with a starting price now from AU$2551. The voyage which explores four of the archipelago’s beautiful islands in as many days with just 16 passengers will be in search of blue-footed boobies, sea lions and lava lizards. Chimu are also offering discounts on their small group tours to Latin America such as Colours of Peru , 14 days now from AU$5890. This trip offers a ‘willing to share’ room option making it ideal for solo travellers who would like to avoid single surcharges.

As specialists in these regions, almost every Chimu Destination Specialist has been to Antarctica and/or the Arctic and has lived or travelled extensively in Latin America. Chimu has Australia’s largest offering of ships and itineraries and also the country’s only dedicated Polar Team who can guide clients through the myriad options to ensure they choose the right expedition for them.
